Bailey + Evan | Gasparilla Island Maternity Session

There is something extra special about getting to photograph couples through so many seasons of life. This Gasparilla Island maternity session felt especially meaningful because it was my fourth time photographing Bailey and Evan. Five years ago, we captured their engagement photos on this same stretch of beach in Boca Grande, Florida. Now, they are preparing to welcome their baby any day, and getting to document this chapter for them felt incredibly full circle.

From the moment we started walking through the palm-lined paths near the chapel, the entire evening felt extra special.

There’s a unique anticipatory vibe when parents are getting ready to welcome a baby into their lives. As a Florida photographer, this is so special for me to capture. Especially for past couples! Getting to photograph each milestone means the world to me!

Bailey chose the most beautiful cream knit dress for the session.

The texture and movement photographed so beautifully against the sand and shoreline. Her dress had soft bell sleeves and a subtle slit that moved with the ocean breeze. Evan kept things classic and simple in neutral linen pants and a dark short-sleeve button-down, which balanced perfectly with the soft coastal tones around them.

One thing I always recommend for beach maternity photos is choosing outfits that feel comfortable and timeless. Neutral tones photograph beautifully during golden hour and keep the focus on connection and emotion.

A few reasons this location worked so well for their session:

  • Soft white sand and calm water

  • Palm trees and tropical architecture nearby

  • Rocky shoreline for variety in the gallery

  • The dreamiest sunset light on the Gulf Coast

That’s the beauty of Boca Grande at sunset! I love that Bailey and Evan chose to do their Gasparilla Island maternity session here again.

As the sun started dropping lower over the water, the entire beach turned golden. Some of my favorite images from the evening were the quieter moments. Bailey standing barefoot in the waves with her hands on her belly. Evan wrapping his arms around her near the rocks. The silhouette of the two of them walking along the shoreline as the sun disappeared into the horizon.

This part of Florida always feels peaceful and romantic. Between the beaches, the charming architecture, and the slower pace, it is easy to see why couples love taking photos here. If you are visiting nearby areas like Captiva Island, South Seas Island Resort, or the Gasparilla Inn, adding photos to your trip is such a meaningful way to preserve this season.

This Gasparilla Island maternity session was such a beautiful reminder of why documenting every chapter matters.

From engagement photos on this same beach years ago to now preparing to become parents, it has been so special getting to tell their story along the way.
