There’s something about a wedding at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica that just feels like magic. Case in point: Olivia & Spencer’s big day. From the moment we landed on the island, we knew this was going to be one of those weddings that sticks with us forever.

We had an absolute blast with Liv and Spencer. Their families were just as warm and kind, inviting us in like old friends. It felt less like work, and more like we were part of the crew. Celebrating two amazing people who’ve built a love story worth telling again and again.

Olivia and Spencer are college sweethearts who first crossed paths during their sophomore year at Clemson University. Life after graduation threw them into a season of long distance: Olivia stayed at Clemson for her Master’s while Spencer started his career in another city. Even though miles separated them, they were so sure about each other from the start. That certainty, trust and familiarity was so evident on their wedding day too. It was such a cool thing to document as a Destination Wedding Photographer.

When Olivia told me their story, she said that she knew an engagement was coming, but she wanted to finish her degree first. True to his thoughtful nature, Spencer waited until the day Olivia graduated to pull off the ultimate surprise. He’d been holding onto her ring for six whole months (!!!) before popping the question, surrounded by both of their families. It was only fitting that their wedding day would feel just as special, full of love and the people who mean the most to them.

We started their big day with the bride and groom getting ready separately, before meeting up for an emotional first look on the tropical lawn of the resort. Spencer was so happy to see his bride, and you could just tell they had been waiting for this moment for so long.

Their ceremony really was one for the books, because they became officially MARRIED in a bungalow over-looking the ocean. But the extra special feature was the clear-glass aisle that looked down on all the marine life below. Talk about wow-factor.

After the vows, we snuck away to do newlywed portraits on the beach during golden hour. And just like my past weddings, this was a favorite moment for me. The holy-cow-we-just-did-that glow is REAL. The giddiness. The quiet acknowledgement as the reality sinks in. It’s a really special and intimate part of the day. I feel honored to witness and document it.

After that quiet moment… came the party!

And what a party it was! From heartfelt toasts to the fun dance floor with glow sticks, every moment felt easy and joy-filled. The laughter, the happy tears, the tight hugs — this crew knew how to celebrate, and we loved every second of being there to capture it.

Destination weddings like this one are so special because they’re not just about one day. They’re about an experience. Olivia and Spencer’s entire weekend was full of adventures, good food, and sunset views that felt unreal. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was a memory-making trip with the people who love them the most. And that’s exactly what made it unforgettable.
