Mia + Danny | Ceremony + Newlywed Portraits at Alderman House
When Mia and Danny reached out to me about photographing their ceremony + newlywed portraits, I knew it was going to be a gorgeous day. Not only do I love photographing at Alderman house (see a recent wedding here to see what I mean!!) - but I also just adore these two as a couple.
I first connected with Mia after photographing her best friend’s wedding on Fort Myers Beach the year before. It’s always such an honor when past clients recommend me to the people they love, and getting to capture this next chapter for Mia and Danny felt especially meaningful because of that referral.
Theirs Was a Love Story Years in the Making…
Mia and Danny first met while working together at a restaurant in 2017. Although they became close friends right away, it wasn’t until 2019 that they went on their first date. (Yes like a true friends-to-lovers story!!) From that night on, their relationship continued to grow through major life milestones, including moves across Florida, medical school, and adventures around the world.
Their story came full circle with a proposal during a hike in Washington. Mia shared that she was nervous about the trail, but Danny encouraged her every step of the way. That moment feels like the perfect reflection of their relationship. He helps her step outside her comfort zone, while she pursues her dreams with determination. They’re the perfect support system for each other.
I joined Mia and Danny for their ceremony + newlywed portraits!
I arrived during the final moments of getting ready for their big day. The bright, airy rooms at The Alderman House created the perfect backdrop for those quiet pre-ceremony moments.
Mia wore such a gorgeous and timeless gown! It perfectly matched the vibe of the day. And her bouquet of white calla lilies and fresh blooms paired beautifully with the soft sage green bridesmaid dresses. Danny looked every inch the classic groom in a black tuxedo with a black bow tie and a subtle sage pocket square that tied everything together.
One of the things I love most about this venue is how it blends Old Florida charm with Mediterranean-inspired architecture. Basically? It. is. dreamy. AF.
Towering palm trees frame the property, while white stucco walls, arched walkways, and terracotta roof tiles create an effortlessly refined setting.
The outdoor ceremony took place beneath the palms, with guests seated along a garden aisle leading to the front steps of the historic home. It was intimate, emotional, and beautifully personal.
Mia and Danny had hired me for a couple hours of coverage, so we made sure to take some time to wander the venue property after the ceremony for newlywed portraits!
They had that amazing newlywed glow, and you could tell their friends & family were so excited to party the night away with them!
Their wedding felt like a joyful celebration of a bond that already existed. They built a life together, and then they gathered their favorite people to celebrate it. I felt so honored to be their Florida wedding photographer and give them captured memories from the day.
